
Jeff Hannan (Partner) founded Strata Venture Partners in 2001. For over 20 years, he has worked on a wide range of venture development, investment, and advisory projects across industries including technology, financial services, consumer products, sports & entertainment, and education. Prior to Strata, Jeff worked as an investment banker with the firms Merrill Lynch, Kidder Peabody, and Wedbush Morgan where his experience included work on initial public and secondary public offerings, corporate mergers, valuation, and strategic industry research.
In addition, an integral part of SVP’s strategy, includes Jeff’s pioneering work with social purpose venture development. His most notable social purpose work includes a Farber Fellowship with the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund, the California Department of Education’s largest investigation of a charter school operator, and serving as the Enterprise Development Director with the Jacobs Family Foundation’s Market Creek Community Ownership Initiative.
Jeff currently serves as an Instructor of Entrepreneurship in the UCLA UCExcelerator, program, and has taught Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship at The University of Pennsylvania, and UCLA’s Anderson School.
Jeff received his BA from the University of Rhode Island, and holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management, where he was a Wolfen Entrepreneurial Fellow. As a Doctoral candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, Jeff served as a Researcher and Instructor of Social and Educational Entrepreneurship.
